As a multimedia artist, I explore the relationship between the human and nonhuman, bridging themes of fantasy and ecology. Art to me is not only a means of self-expression, but also a method of escapism and psychological recovery from my struggles with personal health. Exploring fantastical ideas grounded by realistic concepts is where my works thrive, utilizing otherworldly subjects in order to comment on real-world issues and stories. Oftentimes I will create a frame in my image only to break it – there is something special to me about this visual representation of wanting to stretch beyond the confines of straight-forward thinking or societal expectation.
